Mr. Jesse Adkison, 80, of Mayfield, Ky., passed away at 3:15 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 28, 2020, at the Jackson-Purchase Medical Center in Mayfield.
He was a member of Northside Church of Christ, a 22-year U.S. Navy veteran and retired teacher at IET in Paducah, Ky.
He is survived by his wife, Marjorie Veith Adkison; one daughter, Cynthia (Jack) Campbell of Mayfield; two sons, Timothy (Belinda) Adkison of Mayfield and Michael Adkison of Odesa, Ukraine; one brother, Kennon Adkison of Boise, Idaho; four grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and four stepgranddaughters.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Carlton and Thelma Frazier Adkison; stepfather, Oliver Coates; one son, Jeffrey Adkison; a grandson, Justin Green; and a great-grandson, Emmitt Pack.
Graveside services were to be held 1 p.m. today in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens near Paducah, with Brother Chris Kemp to officiate.
Friends were to call from 11 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. today at Brown Funeral Home in Mayfield.

    Mr. Adkins was my 1st semester instructor at IET. He set my class up for success with his knowledge and thoughtful intuitive style of teaching! What a great guy!

    I just looked a picture of our Spring 1988′ graduating class with him in it!
