DENY THE COMMENT, I just didn’t see any other way to send a message about the obit. Additional info provided below.

John M. Horton born June 13, 1949 to Edith Ruth Dunn Horton and John Bryant Horton. Survived by his wife Cresconia (Connie) Ordiz Horton. Survived by One daughter Windelyn Lee Horton Davis (Husband-Daren A. Davis). 3 Grandchildren (Kyle Davis, Connor Davis, Austin Davis). Survived by Siblings: Jerry Bryant Horton, Janice Ruth Horton Pollock, Mary Sue Bowlin Bonee.

I believe he joined the military in about 1977 and served until he retired in Millington. He was stationed on a ship for many years off the coast of Japan and the Phillipines, but I don’t recall the name of the ship. He requested that he be cremated and his ashes be spread over the ocean. Janice Pollock of Union City could provide contact information for his daughter Windy Davis if additional info were needed; John’s wife Connie is staying with Windy and Daren in Florida where they reside.

I do not know what info they would want to share. I just noticed that the obit was incomplete and missing several details that I have in my ancestry.

There were also numerous half brothers and sisters but I’m unsure how many are still living
Half siblings: Joyce Horton, Virginia Bruff (deceased), John B. Horton Jr., Donie Horton (deceased), Lonie Horton (deceased), Jessie Horton, Vessie Horton, Vassie Mae Horton, Leon Horton (deceased). This list of half siblings may not be complete or accurate, and I don’t know which are living.[Donna Sue Rambo (daughter of Virginia Bruff) who has worked for EW James for years might be able to verify the half siblings names and whether they are living.

      again deny this comment

additional info is that I believe that date of death is wrong

he was in Baptist East in Memphis though I don’t know if they would share info…
but it was our understanding that on April 8 he asked them to remove the ventilator (he was suffering from a rare blood cancer) and they had planned to move him to hospice and that Daren was driving Connie back to TN to see him.

windy called on Thursday, April 9 to say that he’d passed away that morning.
i don’t believe Daren and Connie made it before he passed but I’m not sure and didn’t want to ask.
      Connie suffers from alzheimers.

I am looking for info pertaining to the Horton family tree (genealogy). Father John and his 4 sons (in order) Archibald, John, James, and George (born 1801) lived for decades in what is now Obion Co – used to be Weakley co, District 2 back then (maybe 1830 -1870). When John and his wife died in 1873, the brothers and their families left shortly after. Some kin still live there – likely descendants of the four brothers.
Please find me on FamilySearch.org (free, church-sponsored) to help complete the family tree.
