Tommie Waggener

Mrs. Tommie Lou Waggener, age 93, died Thursday, Sept. 19, 2019, in Martin. Funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Murphy Funeral Home in Martin with Rev. Sing Oldham officiating. Burial followed in Cate Cemetery near Martin. Pallbearers were Chris Taylor, Joe Taylor, Ty Taylor, John Chester, Steve Davis, Gavin Davis and Charles Freeman. She was a retired nurse having worked at Obion County Hospital and Volunteer Hospital, worked at many of the local clinics in Martin for several different doctors and was a member of First Baptist Church in Martin. Mrs. Waggener is survived by her daughters, Sandra (Dennis) Taylor of Martin and Pam Waggener of Nashville; three grandchildren, Chris (Wendy) Taylor of Houston, Texas, Joe (Jenne) Taylor of Clarksville and Ty (Haley) Taylor of Huntsville, Alabama; eight great-grandchildren, Charlie Waggener Taylor, Anna Grace Taylor, Audren Taylor, July Taylor, Cooper Joe Taylor, Zeb Taylor, Eion Taylor and Luke Taylor. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Waggener; her parents, Clarence Simmons and Gillie Gillaspie Simmons; daughter, Kimberly Jo Waggener;  and three sisters.
