Bentley Rawdon

John Bentley Rawdon, 77, of Gallatin passed from this life Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2018, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday in the chapel of Crest Lawn Funeral Home in Cookeville. Interment will follow in the Crest Lawn Memorial Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Thursday and from 9 a.m. until hour of services Friday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to Alzheimer’s of Tennessee Inc.
He was born in Obion, to Mary (Austin) Rawdon and the late Herbert Rawdon.
He spent his life as an educator for the State of Tennessee. He also served as a Methodist minister in his earlier years.
He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.
He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Judi (Stanfill) Rawdon; one daughter and son-in-law, Shannon and Jason Brady of Maryville; one son and daughter-in-law, Shawn and Erica Rawdon; four grandchildren, Lindsay and Carter Brady and Rylie and Kyndal Rawdon; and two siblings, Cecilia Callis and Wayne Rawdon.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, Ronal Rawdon.

    So sorry to learn of Bently’s passing. Bentley was one of the most unforgettable personalities of KS when I was pledging. Coming in as a freshman, he was so helpful and seemed to me as a ‘solid rock’ kinda guy, both in stature and guidance. My condolences to his family.
