Funeral services were Monday at St. Edward’s Catholic Church and interment was in the Union Cemetery. The Rev. Robert Drury officiated. Hornbeak Funeral Home in Fulton was in charge of arrangements.

He was a member of St. Edward’s Catholic Church and had been a supervisor for the former Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. in Union City.
He is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Stacey and Lee Ussery of Martin and Sondra and Jason Gibbs of Fulton; his son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Renee Nelson of Milan; six grandchildren; two sisters, Irene Nelson Pence of Luray, Va., and Margaret Nelson Hawk of Mineral, Va.; and his brother William Nelson of Western Port, Md.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Susan “Sue” (Fazenbaker) Nelson; his parents, Robert and Gertrude (Smith) Nelson; his grandchild, James “Jake” Gibbs; and his brother, Robert Nelson.
