Danny Whaley

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church in Troy, with burial to follow in Obion County Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the church from 4-8 on Friday evening. White-Ranson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers will be members of the A-Shift of the Union City Fire Department. Honorary pallbearers will be all members of the Union City Fire Department.
Danny was born in Union City June 1, 1974. He was a 1993 graduate of Union City High School. After graduation, he attended UTM and served in the U.S. Marine Corps with distinction. He married the former Regina Hutchison Dec. 20, 1997. She survives. Danny was a devoted husband to his wife, a beloved father to his children, a treasured son to his parents, and an adored brother.
Danny served his community as a 10-year veteran of the Union City Fire Department as a licensed EMT. He was well-loved and respected among his fellow firemen. Danny was immediately loved by all who knew him, especially children. He was an active and important part of youth sports leagues throughout the county, coaching and supporting children of all ages. Danny and his family were active members of First Baptist Church of Troy.
Danny is now reunited with his beloved mother, who, like Danny, left this earth far too soon. Danny’s life and legacy will continue to reverberate in every life he touched, every athlete he coached and every person blessed enough to call him friend. One day, not far long from now, those who share in his rock solid faith will see him again. Until then, his family and his friends wait in Christ-filled hope. Maranatha.
Danny is also survived by his daughter, Ali Paige Whaley; his sons, Brennen Tyler and Connor Reid; his parents, Sherry and Rucker Wheelis; his biological father, James Gregory Whaley Sr.; his mother-in-law, Joyce Hutchison; his father-in-law, Kenneth Hutchison; two brothers and their spouses, Chuck and Alicia Wheelis and Greg and Dara Whaley; his brother-in-law and his spouse, Chevy and Jill Hutchison; his grandmother, Mildred Helen Hill; his beloved nieces and nephews, James, Natalie, Audrey, Gavin, Kaitlyn, Aston and Carter; and his cousins.
Danny was preceded in death by his mother, Brenda (Hill) Whaley; his grandparents, Jim Hill Sr. and Marilyn Hill; and his uncle, Jim Hill Jr.
