Funeral services were set for Strong Funeral Home in Hickman today at 1 p.m., with the Rev. Henry Callison officiating. Burial was to follow in Hickman City Cemetery. Pallbearers were to be Bret Johnson, Shon Johnson, Zachary McDaniel, Kenneth Driver II, Lynn Busby, Mike McKenzie, Jason Batts and Mike Busby. Mrs. Burns was a homemaker and had owned and operated Johnson Grocery in Hickman. She was of the Baptist faith. She was born in Hickman July 23, 1923, to the late Clyde and Ethie (Jones) Murphy. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three husbands, Robert James Johnson, Henry E. Harris and Dick Burns; three brothers and her sister-in-law, Roy D. Murphy, James R. Murphy and Clyde Murphy Jr. and June Murphy; and her sister, Hazel (Murphy) Higgs Hurt. Survivors are her son, Roger H. Johnson of Memphis; her daughter, Shirley (Johnson) Busby Kelly of Troy; her brother, Charles Murphy of Alabama; nine grandchildren, Bret Johnson, Lisa Johnson McDaniel Driver, Shon Johnson, Deborah Knapp McElroy, Timothy Knapp, Mike Busby, Twana (Busby) Tibbs, Sharrie (Busby) McKenzie and Lynn Busby; and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
