Juanita Wilkerson

Mrs. Wilkerson was born in Dyersburg and lived in Troy for a time with her husband. She enjoyed hobbies such as sewing, quilting, gardening and reading, and she spent many hours doing volunteer work in the community. She also loved spending time with family and friends.
Survivors include her children and their spouses, Phillip V. and Cris Wilkerson of Marysville, Wash., Robert M. Wilkerson of Orange Park, James D. and Judie Wilkerson of Terry, Miss., and Katherine E. and Mike Cayton of Orange Park; nine grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; her sister-in-law, Wanda Sublett of Union City; and dozens of families adopted from the heart.
She is predeceased by her husband, Nully B. Wilkerson Jr.; her grandson, Michael A. Cayton II; her granddaughter-in-law, Laura Pointer Wilkerson; her mother and father; five brothers; and many more loved ones.
A Celebration of Life service was held Tuesday at the NAS Jacksonville Naval Chapel at 751 Birmingham Ave. in Jacksonville, Fla.
Viewing will be held Saturday from 2-3 p.m. at Dyersburg Funeral Home at 420 Highway 51 Bypass West, with the funeral service set for 3 p.m. Interment will follow immediately in Fairview Cemetery in Dyersburg.
Donations may be made in her memory to Navy Wives Clubs of America National Scholarship Foundation, 1830 West Schwartz Blvd., The Villages, FL 32159.
Arrangements in Florida were by Hardage-Giddens Rivermead Funeral Home at 127 Blanding Blvd. in Orange Park.
