Funeral services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Cryer Funeral Home in Obion. The Rev. John Carroll will officiate and burial will follow in Zion Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Alan Jordan, Randy Evans, Jamie Evans, Jimmy Gatlin, Rodney Underwood and Gary Duren. Honorary pallbearers will be Vinson Thompson, Billy Ledbetter and Danny McDonald.
Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday from 6-8 p.m.
The family requests that memorials be made to Obion First United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 206, Obion, TN 38240.
He was born in Obion County April 29, 1942, son of the late Herman Craig and Oletha (Hicks) Cole. He was a 36-year employee of the former Salant & Salant in Obion, was a member of Obion First United Methodist Church and was an avid hunter and fisherman and rabbit hunter. He was also a U.S. Army veteran.
He and his best friend, Vinson Thompson, raised Beagles.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Rita (McDonough) Cole; his son, Tracy Cole of Obion; his sister and brother-in-law, Janice and Charles Roberts of Murfreesboro; two grandchildren, Mollye White and Austin Cole, both of North Zulch, Texas; his great-grandson, Luke White of North Zulch; his niece, Jennifer Crisafulli of Germany; his nephew, Jason Roberts of Murfreesboro; and his aunt, Bernada Mallard of Newbern.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his grandparents, his aunt and two uncles.
