Betty Johnson

Betty Jane (Hopper) Johnson, 76, of Union City passed away 6:50 a.m. Wednesday, July 22, 2015, at her home.
Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Friday in the chapel of Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home. Brother Don Layman and Dr. Melvin Poe will officiate. Burial will follow in Obion County Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be held at Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home from 5-8 p.m. today.
Pallbearers will be Dale Brewer, Troy Robinson, Bart Smith, Michael Cox, Randy Gregory and Robert Burton.
Mrs. Johnson was born December 4, 1938, in Obion County, daughter of the late Herbert and Farrah Mae (Burton) Hopper. She married Bonnie Johnson on August 13, 1955. He survives.
Mrs. Johnson had been employed as a garment factory worker and was an Avon sales representative for many years. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Union City.
She is also survived by two daughters and one son-in-law, Deborah and Billy Burkeen of Newbern and Cindy Flatt of Union City; two sisters, Nellie Smith of Ridgely and Minnie Cox of Union City; four grandchildren and the spouses of three, Michael and Brandy Flatt and Misty and Darrell Freeman, all of Union City, Autumn Morgan of Obion and Chad and Christy Binkley of Newbern; and six great-grandchildren, Gage Morgan, Lucas Morgan, Eli Morgan and Hannah Flatt, all of Union City, Jonah Flatt of Memphis and Reagan Binkley of Newbern.
She was also preceded in death by three brothers.
