Gordon Cross

Gordon Lee Cross, 82, of Union City died June 3, 2015, at Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville.
Services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at White-Ranson Funeral Home. Dr. Cecil Sewell will officiate, with burial to follow in East View Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday.
Pallbearers will be his grandsons and also Ray Burden and Lanny Callicott.
Memorials may be made to Hometown Walk of Hope or First Baptist Church of Union City.
He was born Feb. 25, 1933, in Obion County, son of the late Gorgie Alton “Buddy” Cross and Stella (Fullerton) Cross. He married the former Barbara Driver on Nov. 17, 1955.
He had worked at Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. in quality control for about 18 years. Prior to that, he had worked at Lear Siegler; and after that, he had worked at Homestead.
He was a member of First Baptist Church of Union City, where he was a door greeter. He and his wife and family loved camping, fishing, hunting and sports. He had also umpired at Graham Park for many years.
In addition to his wife of 59 years, he is survived by a daughter, Jana Ams of Union City; a son and daughter-in-law, Kelley and Melinda Cross of Union City; four grandchildren and the spouses of three of them, Jarron Ams of Union City, Jason and Daiquiri Ams of Lexington, Ky., Adam and Allison Cross of Henderson and Macy and Nathan Chupp of Union City; and four great-grandchildren, Addie Cross, Jasper Cross and Shelbie Cross, all of Henderson, and Stella Chupp of Union City.
