James Major
Visitation will be held this evening and a celebration of his life is set for Thursday at 2 p.m. at Karnes & Son Funeral Home in Rutherford. Burial will follow in the Yorkville Cemetery.
He was born Dec. 2, 1984, in Union City. He graduated from Gibson County High School in 2003 and attended the University of Tennessee at Martin. James was currently employed with Healthcare Services Group Inc. and worked at Reelfoot Manor Health and Rehabilitation in Tiptonville.
He leaves his mother, Jan (Wylie) Sims of Kenton; his father, Jerry Major of Jackson; his son, James Wylie Major II; his grandmothers, Janie Dodds Wylie of Newbern and Mary Sue Major of Martin; his aunt, Michelle (Major) Granner and her husband, Jim, of Martin; his uncle, Van Wylie, and his wife, Janice, of Kenton; and cousins, Matthew Granner of Martin and Justin and Jennifer Wylie and Brintlee of Dyersburg.
He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Bob Wylie and Lucian Major.
