Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at White-Ranson Funeral Home with the Rev. Matt Brown officiating. Burial will follow in East View Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home 5-8 p.m. Wednesday.
Pallbearers will be David Searcy, Brian Searcy, Rick Searcy, Chad Elks, Jim Carmichael and Mark Marshall. Honorary pallbearers will be employees of the Allen Searcy Builder Contractors office and Chuck Dalton, Ronnie Storey and Larry Ransom.
The family requests that memorials be made to Kirkland Cancer Center, 720 West Forest Ave., Jackson, TN 38301.
He was born Sept. 9, 1968, in Wayne, Mich., son of Paul and Janice Carol (Miller) Yates of Union City. He was an account manager for Searcy Builder Contractors in Union City and was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Union City, where he taught an adult Bible class and played the organ.
He was a member of the marketing committee for Discovery Park of America.
He is also survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Julia and Keith Ransom of Union City; his niece, Rebecca Ransom of Union City; his nephew, Jonathan Ransom of Union City; his aunt, Alice Webber of Kawkawlin, Mich.; his uncle, A.L. Yates of Union City; and several cousins.
