Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church, with burial following in Obion County Memorial Gardens. The Rev. David Sauer and Dr. Philip Cook will officiate.
The family will receive friends 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at the church.
White-Ranson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers will be Ryan Stone, Chris Stone, Justin Stokes, Jody Jackson, Mark Stone and Cress Harris. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Gideons and Union City Masonic Lodge No. 538 F&AM and State Farm agents.
The family requests that memorials be made to Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church or the Gideons.
He was born Aug. 14, 1929, in Union City, son of the late Wallace Moore and Eva (Watkins) Stone. He married the former Dora Catherine Moore Jan. 25, 1952. She survives. He was a State Farm Insurance Co. agent for 36 years and was a lifetime member of Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church. He had been a member of the Gideons, Union Çity Masonic Lodge 538 and the Acts 4:20 Club and was past president of both Union City Jaycees and Union City Civitan Club.
He is also survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Jeff and Cindy Stone of Union City and Jim Moore and Martha Stone of Fort Collins, Colo.; three grandchildren and their spouses, Ryan and Amy Stone of Obion, Shaye Anne and Jody Jackson of Wingo, Ky.; and Christopher Mark Stone of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; three great-grandchildren, Rylee Stone and Anna Cate Stone, both of Obion, and Emery Jackson of Wingo; and his brother and sister-in-law, Wallace Moore Stone Jr. and Jane Stone of Germantown.
Mr. Stone was also preceded in death by his grandson, Steven Jay Stone; and his sister, Sarah Lou (Stone) Cook.
