Roy Osborne

The family requests that memorials be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis.
He was born Feb. 25, 1925, in Obion County, son of the late E.W. and Jennie Belle (Stephens) Osborne. He married the former Dorothy Jean Poore March 21, 1947. She survives. He was a retired inventory supervisor for the Tennessee Department of Transportation and was a World War II U.S. Navy veteran. He served as a Seabee and was awarded the Purple Heart at Normandy on D-Day during the Normandy Invasion. He was a member of Rives Church of Christ and the American Legion.
He is also survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Myra Osborne of Lancaster, S.C.; his daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Art Chivers of Union City; three grandchildren, Steven Osborne, Stan Chivers and Lauren Chivers; and three great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by his granddaughter, Valerie Ann Osborne, and eight brothers and sisters.
