University of Tennessee Extension Family and Consumer Science employs summer college interns in the field of Family and Consumer Sciences annually.
This year the UT Extension Career Edge committee interviewed 18 applicants across the state of Tennessee and six were awarded summer internships.
Obion County native Jordan Jones was chosen as a Career Edge intern. Miss Jones is working at the Obion County UT Extension office this summer with UT Extension agent Benita Giffin.
“This is a great opportunity for any intern and we are excited that Jordan was chosen as a recipient,” Mrs. Giffin said.
This summer Miss Jones will be involved in Family and Community Education work and programs like Living Well With Chronic Conditions, Women Against Violence conference, Take Charge of Your Diabetes, Tai Chi for Arthritis, iPad Education and Co-Parenting, along with preparation for the Obion County Fair.
Miss Jones will give her final presentation on July 31 in Nashville for the Family and Consumer Science UT Extension Agent Conference.
