Allison Cheryl Harwell of Jackson, the daughter of Mike and Cheryl Cary of Union City, was recently named to the Dean’s List at Union University in Jackson for the spring semester.
She is a 2010 graduate of Obion County Central High School.
Union’s Dean’s List includes full-time students who achieve a 3.5 grade point average on a 4.0 scale.

Several Obion County students at Mid-Continent University in Mayfield, Ky., recently earned President’s List or Dean’s List honors in the ADVANTAGE Programs.
The President’s List honorees included Fulton 3F Cohort members Mark Breeden, Michael Chandler, Danny Hutchins and Dana Wright, all of Union City; Wesley Moore of Rives; and Kim York of Troy.
Among those named to the Dean’s List were David Ceiga of Union City, a member of the Fulton 3F Cohort; and Mary Long of Union City, a member of the Mayfield 20 Cohort.
To achieve President’s List at Mid-Continent, students must maintain a 4.0 grade point average on a 4.0 scale.
For Dean’s List, they must maintain a GPA between 3.5 and 3.99 on a 4.0 scale.

Brady West Tidwell of Union City was recently named to the Dean’s List for the spring semester at the University of Memphis.
Tidwell, the son of Chris and Melynda Tidwell of Union City, is majoring in biology and will be a junior in the fall. He is active in Alpha Tau Omega and is in the honors program.

Two students from Obion County recently earned academic honors for the spring semester at Bethel University in McKenzie.
Victor Guerrero of Union City was named to the Dean’s List, while Rachel Lynn McCollum of Union City was named to the honor roll.
For a traditional student to be named to the Dean’s List at Bethel, he or she must have completed 12 or more hours of simultaneous academic work with an average of 3.50 to 3.69 with no grade below C. To qualify for honor roll, a traditional student must have an average of 3.70 or above on 12 or more simultaneous academic hours with no grade below C.

A number of students from Obion County were named to the Dean’s List for the spring semester at the University of Tennessee at Knoxville.
Among those honored were:
• Union City — James C. Donaldson, cum laude; Katie E. Donaldson, summa cum laude; Paige A. Fisher, summa cum laude; Christina D. Jackson, summa cum laude; John C. Kirkland, cum laude; Joseph D. Marshall, summa cum laude; Russell H. Smith, magna cum laude; and Anna B. White, summa cum laude.
• Troy — James B. Marlowe, cum laude.
• South Fulton — Megan L. White, magna cum laude.
To qualify for the Dean’s List at UT-Knoxville, an undergraduate student must earn a term grade point average of 3.80-4.00 (summa cum laude), 3.65-3.79 (magna cum laude) or 3.50-3.64 (cum laude). Students must complete at least 12 credit hours, not counting work taken on a satisfactory/no-credit basis, to be eligible.

Charles Alexander Mar-tin of Obion County was recently named to the Dean’s List for the spring semester at Walters State Community College in Morristown.
At Walters State, students earn Dean’s List honors for a grade point average of 3.5-3.99 while carrying 12 hours or more.
