A helicopter that will be on display in the Military History Gallery at Discovery Park of America was moved from its former storage location to the 50-acre educational and entertainment complex under construction on Everett Boulevard in Union City’s northwest quadrant this morning. Several massive pieces of military equipment and many items related to transportation are now being delivered and set up at the multi-million dollar project, which will open later this year, thanks to the Robert E. and Jenny D. Kirkland Foundation. The imaginative Discovery Center, a multi-story centerpiece for the park in which hundreds of eye-catching and mind-expanding exhibits devoted to many different interest areas will be located, can be seen in the background as the helicopter makes its way home.
