World War II veterans Joe Ray Davis and Tommy Kasun will be honored during the opening ceremonies.
Faye Sharp, a member of Kenton’s board of aldermen and the city’s parks and recreation commissioner, has released the schedule for the city’s White Squirrel Festival.
There will be a community worship service at the Kenton gym starting at 6 p.m. June 30.

There will be a white bean supper on July 2, from 5-7 p.m. at the Kenton gym, with a $5 charge for the meal.
Immediately following the supper, there will be an auction at the gym.
The final day of Kenton’s White Squirrel Festival will come on the Fourth of July with a 5K run/walk starting at 8 a.m. at the Kenton gym. Participants will be able to sign up for the event starting at 7 a.m. at the gym.
There will be a parade through town starting at 11 a.m.
Entries will line up on the parking lot of the former Plastech plant off North Poplar Street and the parade route will travel down that street before turning right on West College and ending up in the parking lot of the Kenton gym.
Those planning to participate in the parade are being asked to organize at the Plastech plant parking lot at 10 a.m.
A dance will be held at the Kenton gym from 7-10 p.m. and, finally, there will be the traditional fireworks display which will be set off starting at 10.
