Exchange Street Church of Christ welcomed new family additions with the 2013 Blessing of the Babies. Families taking part included (from left) Allan and Rebekah Carman with Laney Jo of Union City, Seth and Ashley Ursery with Parker Jude of Union City and Tommy and Kayla Pergande with Bronson Ross and Presley Faith. Laney has an older sister, Libby. Her grandparents are Mark and Gayle Ellegood of Union City, the late Steve Blackley and Brad and Gail Carman of Wilmington, Del. Parker has a big brother, Maddux. Their grandparents are Terry and Nancy Cammuse of Troy and Randy and Gina Ursery of Rives. The Pergrande children have an older brother, James. Their grandparents are John Wilson of Murfreesoro, Linda Wilson of Martin and Stacy and Joan Morris of Rives. During the “Blessing of the Babies” the parents are charged to teach and model for their children the right ways of the Lord. The congregation is charged with upholding the children and their families with love, supporting them with prayers, teaching them with scriptures, encouraging them when they fail, rejoicing with their achievements and helping them as they grow into their own faith and commitment to God.
