Conference to meet
Bells Chapel CME Church, located at 207 North Highland Drive in Fulton, will be hosting the Evansville/Hopkinsville District Conference Friday and Saturday. Friday services will be at 9 a.m. and 6:45 p.m., with Saturday services at 9 a.m. There will be a “Praise Party” at noon Saturday on the church parking lot and the event will feature live Christian music, refreshments, bump and jump games and more.
The public is invited to join the congregation for any and all services according to the pastor, the Rev. Claudette Snorton.

 WM church hosts VBS
Vacation Bible School will be held Monday through June 14 from 5:30-8:30 nightly at Woodland Mills First Baptist Church.
The theme will be “Jungle Jaunt” — a Lifeway curriculum which centers around the scripture Psalm 145:1-2 and the motto “Praise Him! Trust Him! Follow Him! The One True God!” — as children jump into a VBS experience as big as the Amazon rain forest.
Each night’s activities will begin with snacks at 5:30, with the worship rally to start at 6 each evening. Rotations for the jungle-themed event will include Bible study, crafts, missions, music and recreation.
Classes will be offered for children who have completed kindergarten through those who have completed sixth grade.
The church’s VBS kickoff will be held Sunday from 6-8 p.m. in the area around the activities building, located behind the main church building. Hamburgers, hot dogs and other refreshments will be served and giant inflatables will be available for everyone’s enjoyment, with those attending asked to bring their lawn chairs.

VBS to begin
The Colossal Coaster World Vacation Bible School will begin Monday and continue through June 13 at Calvary Baptist Church, located at 2250 East Reelfoot Ave. in Union City. VBS will begin at 9 a.m. and end at noon daily. Children who are kindergarten-ready through fifth- grade-ready are invited to attend. Games, snacks, music, Bible stories and crafts will highlight the event. Family Night will be Wednesday, beginning at 6:30 p.m. with a short VBS music presentation followed by a hot dog and nacho supper.  For pre-registration, call the church office at 885-2961 Friday or register at the door Monday.

Food pantry open
The Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church’s One for All Food Pantry will be open Tuesday from 4-6 p.m. Proof of residency and income must be presented at each visit.
The Rev. Caroline Farmer is the pastor.

Youth revival planned
New Hope Freewill Baptist Church will have a youth revival beginning Monday and continuing through Wednesday at 7 nightly. Guest speakers will be Cheo Ware, associate minister from Emmanuel Church of God in Christ in Tiptonville on Monday night; the Rev. Micheal  McClure from Turning Point Ministries in Hickman Ky., Tuesday night; and Anthony Marshall from Church of the Living God in Union City Wednesday night. Elder Ron Smith, pastor, and the congregation, invite others to “Come and be blessed.”
 
To sell rib plates
Greater Praise Choir of Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church will be selling rib plates Saturday beginning at 10 a.m. The plates will include ribs, potato salad, baked beans, cole slaw and bread for $7. An order of a full slab of ribs will be $15, with 1⁄2 slab of ribs for $8. There will be a few slabs of beef ribs.

Mt. Zion to host
unveiling
Mt. Zion CME Church, located on the corner of Greenwood and College streets in Union City, will host a celebration of the unveiling of an impressive plaque calling attention to the church’s listing on the National Register of Historic Places Sunday.Worship will be followed by a time for refreshments. The Rev. Darrell Turner and the congregation invite the community to attend.

Gospel meeting set
Fremont Church of Christ, located on Highway 22 West, 21⁄2 miles west of Lake Road School near Union City, will host a gospel meeting Sunday through Tuesday, with John Hall from Ashdown, Ark., former minister of Fremont, as the speaker. William Denman will be song leader.
Bible Study will begin at 10 a.m. Sunday, with worship at 11 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. Weeknight services will also be at 7:30.
The community is invited to attend.

Choir Day slated
Miles Chapel will host Choir Day in Martin at 3 p.m. Sunday. Several choirs will be taking part. The community is invited to attend, according to the pastor, the Rev. Paul Jenkins.

Tabernacle news told
Pentecostal Tabernacle will host a spaghetti plate fundraiser at Carr Street Community Center in Fulton June 15 from 6-8:30 p.m. Plates will include salad, dessert and drink, with spaghetti, for $6.

The congregation will host a Vacation Bible School June 19-21 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. The church is located at 16235 State Route 45 South in Water Valley, Ky.

One-day VBS set
Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church in Union City will host a one-day Vacation Bible School from 9 a.m.-noon Saturday at Kiwanis Park in downtown Union City.
The VBS is open to children 4-12 years old and will focus on the theme “Jesus’ Journey.”
Teachers will be utilizing the congregation’s Little Bethlehem experience for the school and children will learn about Jesus as a healer, teacher and savior.
There will be music, crafts and food.

To honor pastor
The Rev. J.T. Brown, pastor of Evangel Temple on West Reelfoot Avenue in Union City for 45 years and pastor of Samburg Assembly of God for eight years, will be honored for 53 years in the ministry Sunday.
The Rev. George Land of Union City will be the speaker at 10:30 a.m.
The pastor’s many friends are invited to join the congregation for the celebration of this milestone in his ministry.

Decoration Day planned
Minnick Bible Church will host Decoration Day Sunday, with Sunday school at 10 a.m., worship at 11 and a meal to follow in the fellowship hall. There will be a cemetery association meeting at 1:30.
The church is located on the Minnick-Elbridge Road in Obion County. The Rev. Ralph Moore is pastor.

Bikers’ Day set
Beech Cumberland Presbyterian Church, located at 880 Beech Chapel Road near Union City, will host Bikers’ Day Sunday, with Sunday school at 10 a.m., followed by worship at 11. There will be a time of food and fellowship with grilled hamburgers and hotdogs and homemade ice cream after worship.
Dr. Bobby Williams and the congregation invite the community to attend and will be happy to see those with motorcycles, old vehicles or restored vehicles for worship and fellowship.

Minister to be honored
Hwy 45 Church of Christ near South Fulton will observe its annual Minister Appreciation Day June 30. Larry Ivory of Henderson will be the guest speaker at the 11 a.m. service. Dinner will be served following the morning service.
Featured singers will be Unity Seekers from Memphis and “Chosen” from Columbus, Miss.
Afternoon services will be at 2:30.
Thomas Todd is the congregation’s minister and R.C. Nunley is the assistant minister.
