It is Vacation Bible School time. We will have an outside registration party at Jolley Springs Saturday from 4-8 p.m. All children and adults are welcome to come and have fun. We will have a cookout with lots of games for the children.

VBS will be June 10-14 from 6-8:3o p.m. If you need a ride you may contact our director, Tiffany Owens at 819-7283. Our church is located at the corner of Hwy. 54 and 190N near Como.

As I had been out of church for a few weeks, I was surprised at the many new faces I saw Sunday morning. Visitors are always made to feel welcome at Jolley Springs and encouraged to come back. Our visitation teams are going out at 7 p.m. on the third Wednesday of each month.

Our young children, lead by Barbara Dawson and accompanied by Judy Michael on the piano, sang “The King Is Coming” for our special music on Sunday morning.

A Gideon speaker, Richard Horn from Gleason, told us Sunday morning about going to the country of Columbia. He along with 22 other Gideons spoke in schools and passed out Spanish Bibles while there. He told us most of the schools there are Catholic and have walls with locked gates to help keep the children safe. He told us that 85 million copies of the Bible were passed out last year in 195 countries in 95 different languages.

Dorothy Nash, wife of our former pastor Douglas Nash, passed away at her home in Paris on May 21. They were dearly loved while working at our church in the 1960’s. Mrs. Nash, who had been home bound for many years, was a member of Union Friendship Baptist Church in Henry County.
