Football camp set
for OC youngsters

The Obion County Cenntral Youth Football Camp is slated for 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday.
This is for any child entering 1st-8th grade.
OC’s new football staff, as well as the middle school coaching staff, will instruct campers in football fundamentals as well as life skills such as hard work, accountability and determination.
Cost for the one-day camp is $35 per player or $50 for two siblings. Lunch will be provided.
Youth Football League sign-ups for 1st-5th grade will also take place throughout the camp.
Cost for the Youth League is $55.

Civitans to host
5K fundraiser

The Civitan Club of Union City will be hosting a 5K Fun Run and Walk at 9 a.m. Saturday at Union City High School.
Proceeds will support Union City and Obion County Cerebral Palsy and the Union City Civitan Club with building wheelchair ramps.
Runners can enter before or the day of the race. Registration the day of the race begins at 8 a.m. The entry fee for pre-registration is $15 and $18 on race day.
Awards will cover all age groups, male and female.

Bombers again
stop Railroaders

The Dubois County Bombers handed Fulton a second loss to begin the season, spoiling the Railroaders’ home opener Monday night with a 7-2 verdict in Ohio Valley League play.
The Railroaders took a 1-0 lead in the first inning but then saw the Bombers tie it up in the fourth. The Bombers punched up four more runs in the fifth inning to take a commanding 5-1 lead.
Fulton managed their second run in the seventh, but Dubois County extended their lead in ninth by putting up two more runs.
The Bombers totaled 10 hits, two errors and stranded four on base. The Railroaders managed seven hits, suffered an error and left seven runners on base.
Bomber starter Ty Simpson picked up the win, going six innings annd striking out seven while walking two batters with no earned runs allowed. Jake Shadix took the loss for Fulton, going 42⁄3 innings with four strikeouts, two walks and four earned runs.
