Mary Evelyn (Roberson) Evans, 82, of Troy died June 1, 2013, at the home of her daughter.
Services will be 3 p.m. Thursday at White & Mahon Funeral Home in Troy, with the Revs. Cody Pritchard and Mike Davis officiating. Burial will follow in Obion Chapel Cemetery near Troy.
The family will receive friends 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Her grandsons, Bill Evans, William Evans, Dustin Evans, Bradley Evans, Robert Evans and Sam Stuart, will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be her granddaughters, Elaine Baker, Becky Walley, Tammy Baker Evans, LaShawn Evans, Summer Hendon, Bethany Stuart and Sonja Horton.
She was born Dec. 1, 1930, in Obion County, daughter of the late Fred Iles and Virgie Mae (Wade) Roberson. She married William Dale Evans Feb. 5, 1949. He died Oct. 30, 2004.
She was a homemaker and a member of Obion Chapel United Methodist Church.
Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law, Virginia and David Walker of Hornbeak and Phyllis and Larry Matheny and Jettie and Jodie Baldridge, all of Troy; two sons and her daughter-in-law, Bill and Myla Evans and Edward Wade Evans, all of Troy; 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; a great-great-granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by her son, Jimmy Dale Evans; her grandson, Chris Bryant; and two brothers and her sister-in-law, Thomas Lloyd “Buck” Roberson and Wilbur Gene and Janice Roberson.
