University of Tennessee Extension Service Family and Consumer Sciences agents and the Tennessee Economic Council on Women invite all who are interested to an open hearing and reception, “The Economic Impact of Violence Against Women,” June 20 from 1-4:30 p.m. at Gibson County Extension Office at 1252 Manufacturers Row in Trenton.
The reception will begin at the close of the session and extend until 5:30, a spokesman said.
The session will include information about the economic impact of crimes that disproportionately affect women in northwest Tennessee, such as domestic violence, human sex trafficking, sexual assault and rape. Information will be provided by social service representatives, law enforcement, healthcare providers and public officials from this area.
