Rebels to sing
The Rebels Quartet from Sevierville will be leading the 11 a.m. worship service Sunday at Mount Olive Baptist Church. “Come and enjoy Southern gospel music at its finest,” says the Rev. Steve Carr. 
Mount Olive Baptist Church is located at 4509 Crystal Road near Union City. From Union City, go west on Hwy. 22 (Old Lake Road) and take the first right just past Preuett’s Quick Mart. The church is two miles down Crystal Road on the left.
Carr and the congregation invite everyone to join them for this special time of worship.
 Yard sale planned
The youth of New Hope Free Will Baptist Church will host a yard sale Saturday, beginning at 7 a.m., at 923 South First St. in Union City. The community is invited to support this effort.
Sunswept news told
On Sunday at 6 p.m., Living Truth gospel group will present a special concert during evening worship at Sunswept Baptist Church in Union City.
Vacation Bible School will be in session Monday through June 7 from 6-8 each evening.
Saturday will be a day of preparation, with games, food and fun from 10 a.m.-noon at the church. VBS is for children from preschool age through the youth department. The community is invited to attend, a spokesman said.

  Sale and wash set
Union City First Church of God youth group will be having a yard sale, car wash and bake sale on the parking lot of the church at 415 South Miles Ave. Saturday, starting at 8 a.m.
Ten percent of all earnings will go to Hometown Walk of Hope.
The youth invite everyone to come and help them earn money for their summer activities and Walk of Hope, a spokesman said.

Café to open
Exchange Street Church of Christ’s Soul Food Café will be open Wednesday from 5:30-7 p.m., serving a free meal that features sliced ham, white beans, slaw, cornbread muffins and desserts. The community is invited to enjoy the meal and fellowship. The congregation meets at 420 East Exchange St. in Union City.

To mark special day
Bashan Baptist Church in Rives will observe Men’s and Women’s Day Sunday. The 11 a.m. speakers will be Sherry Davis and Janet Dotstry. The 2:30 speaker will be the Rev. Tim White, associate pastor of St. Paul Baptist Church in Kenton. A noon meal will be served and the community is invited to celebrate with the congregation.
The Rev. Rozelle Dotstry is pastor and Perry Jenkins is chairman of the event.

Youth revival planned
True Gospel Baptist Church, located at 700 Greenwood St. in Union City, will be the site for a youth revival with the theme “… live godly in Christ Jesus,” based on II Timothy 3:12, beginning Friday at 6 p.m. Services with evangelist Adrian Burden of Morehead, N.C., will continue at 6 p.m. Saturday and at 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. Sunday. There will be pizza and cold drinks Saturday night and free gifts will be distributed.

“Brother Burden is a powerful preacher and a gifted magician who uses his gifts to proclaim the glorious message of the gospel of Jesus Christ to young and old alike. You will be blessed by his spirit-filled preaching,” a spokesman said.
The Rev. Jerry King is pastor and Robert Taylor Jr. is song leader.
The community is invited to attend.

Sale planned in UC
Pentecostal Tabernacle, located at 16235 State Route 45 South in Water Valley, Ky., will host a yard and bake sale Friday and Saturday at 202 East Cheatham St. in Union City from 7 a.m.-4 p.m.
All baked items will be homemade.

‘Beyond’ to sing
Beyond the Ashes will be in concert at Obion First United Methodist Church Sunday at 11 a.m. The Dove nominee group will present wonderful spirit-filled music and the community is invited to join the congregation to celebrate Christ with the gift of voice and song.
There is no admission fee, but a love offering will be accepted during the trio’s concert.
A fellowship meal will follow.
The Rev. Buck Carroll and the congregation invite the community to join them for this special opportunity of musical praise and worship.
The church is located at 225 West Main St.
