Paul Kenneth Turner, 84, of Wartrace, where he made his home with his niece, Tina (Turner) Camp, died May 26, 2013, at her home. He was a former resident of Obion.
Graveside services will be Thursday at 3 p.m. at Zion Cemetery near Obion, with Keith Camp officiating. Friends may call at Cryer Funeral Home in Obion 1-2:30 p.m. Thursday.
Pallbearers will be Tab Turner, Tony Turner, Jordan Camp, Evan Clark, Guy Gray and Brian Harber.
He was born Oct. 24, 1928, son of the late Jesse Herman and Macie Lillian (Barker) Turner. He was a 1947 graduate of the former Obion High School and was a sergeant in the Army Corps of Engineers with the 982nd Engineer Construction Battalion at Camp Carson, Colo. Following his discharge in 1952, he began a career with Coca-Cola in Memphis. In May of 2006, he moved to Florida, returning to Tennessee to make his home with his niece in 2008. He was a member of Eastside Church of Christ in Shelbyville.
Survivors also include his brother, James Henry Turner of Downers Grove, Ill.; two nephews, Tab Turner of Lawton, Okla., and Tony Turner of San Diego; two other nieces, Kathy (Turner) Johnson of Huntley, Ill., and Debbie (Turner) Jarecki of Gilbert, Ariz.; six great-nieces and great-nephews, Jessica (Camp) Moore and Joie (Camp) Harber, both of Tampa, Fla., Jordan Camp of Athens, Texas, Jenny (Camp) Clark of Westworth Village, Texas, Megan Johnson of Aurora, Ill., and Britni Jarecki of Chandler, Ariz.; and a great-great-niece and great-great-nephew, Evelyn Harber and Edward Moore, both of Tampa.
He was also preceded in death by his wife, Robert Eugenia (Johnston) Turner, who died in October 2003; and his brother, David Earl Turner.
