Charles Miller of Rives was awarded a bachelor of arts degree in biblical studies-languages during recent spring commencement at Union University in Jackson.
A record high 647 students received degrees during the 188th annual spring commencement ceremony. About 7,500 people attended the service.

Mary Long of Union City recently earned Dean’s List honors in the ADVANTAGE Program at Mid-Continent University in Mayfield, Ky.
She is a member of the Mayfield 20 Cohort.
ADVANTAGE is an accelerated degree completion program.
To achieve Dean’s List recognition at Mid-Continent, a student must maintain a grade point average between 3.5 and 3.99 on a 4.0 scale.
