Al-Anon and Alateen are simple and positive 12-step programs that work for those with family members or friends who have drinking problems or are alcoholics. There is help! Meetings are at 8 Tuesday nights at St. James Episcopal Church at 422 Church St. in Union City. For more information, call 796-0456.
Alcoholics Anonymous meetings in Union City are open to anyone who has a desire to stop drinking. Meetings are held 8 p.m. Tuesdays at 422 East Church Street. This is a closed meeting. Open meetings are held 8 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays and 8 p.m. Fridays at St. James Episcopal Church. Closed meetings are for alcoholics and addicts only. Open meetings are for anyone interested in attending.

Cancer Support Group, a support group open to all cancer patients, meets the fourth Friday of each month. Those attending may enjoy a dutch treat luncheon at  Snappy Tomato Pizza in downtown Union City. For information, call Allyson Thompson at 885-3158. 
CASA/Lifeline is a support group with a Christian perspective, relying on anonymity, for those with addictions. The group meets Mondays at 7 p.m. Call (731) 592-2151 or 592-1718 for information about location and program.
Celebrate Recovery meets at Ridgely First Baptist Church and is a 12-step Christian-based program for those battling any kind of addiction, habit or hang up. Call (731) 264-5972 or (731) 343-0862 for times.
Cocaine Anonymous (Tenn. location) is a 12-step recovery program open to anyone who has a desire to stop using cocaine or any mood-mind altering substance. Meetings are held each Thursday at 8 p.m. at the Casey/Johnson Community Center, located at the corner of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Drive and Greenwood Street in Union City.
Cocaine Anonymous (Ky. location) fellowship has temporarily changed its meeting location to First Church of God at 405 West Main St. in Hickman, Ky. Meetings are 7 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays and 10 a.m. Saturdays. Cocaine Anonymous is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength and hope with each other so they may solve their common problem and help others recover from addiction. Anyone who has the desire to stop using cocaine and other mind-altering substances is encouraged to attend, a spokesman said. Codependents Anonymous meetings are held Fridays at 2 p.m. at the Fulton Counseling Center at 309 North College St. For more information, call (270) 472-3678.
Divorce Care is a 13-week program being offered Wednesdays at 6 p.m. at Union City Second Baptist Church at 831 North Everett Blvd. Call 885-5223 for information.

Halo of Love Parents’ Support Group is open to parents only who have had a child die and meets 7 p.m. monthly at Methodist Healthcare Volunteer Community Hospital in Martin. For more information, call Peggy Rainone at 1 (731) 587-4847.

Loving Hearts and Caring Hands is an information and support program for caregivers that meets in the Christian life center of Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church at 1422 Pleasant Valley Ave. in Union City the third Thursday of odd months from 10-11 a.m. It is co-sponsored by Baptist Memorial Hospital-Union City. NAMI-FULTON, a support group for families dealing with neurobiological brain diseases, such as depression, bipolar disorder and schizophrenia or ADD, ADHD, anxiety disorder, OCD or other emotional disorders, meets the fourth Saturday of each month at 7 p.m. at Fulton Public Library. The Nar-Anon Family Group, which meets Tuesdays at 6:30 p.m., will now meet at the Obion County Public Library, located at 1221 East Reelfoot Ave., in Union City. Narcotics Anonymous Free Spirit Group meets at 230 First St. in Union City Tuesdays, Thursdays at noon and 6:30 p.m.  and Saturdays at noon and 6 p.m.
The National Federation of the Blind Reelfoot Chapter provides phone information and support. For more information, call 885-1132.
Northwest Safeline sponsors weekly support group meetings on Tuesday afternoons and weekday mornings in Obion County for victims of domestic violence. The purpose of the meetings will be to allow those who have lived and suffered  in abusive situations to begin to recover by talking about their experiences with others, according to a spokesman. Stroke Support Group  will meet 3 p.m. on the first and third Sunday of each month in the inpatient therapy gym at HealthSouth Cane Creek Rehabilitation Center in Martin. For more information about these twice a month meetings, call Peggy Morales at (731) 587-4231.
Sunrise Grief Support Groups meet in several locations throughout West Tennessee. Sunrise Outreach Center offers support services to anyone 18 years old or older receiving mental health services now or in the past. The program provides socialization, education, support and lots of fun. Hours are Tuesdays through Fri-days from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. and Saturdays from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. The center is located at 110 East Church St. in Union City. Transportation is available. Support Group for Families and Friends of Those With HIV/AIDS is 7 p.m. each second and fourth Monday at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.

Way of Life, a new fellowship of men and women who have the desire to stop using cocaine and all mind-altering substances, has begun meetings at 7 p.m. on Thursdays and 10 a.m. on Saturdays at the Hickman (Ky.)
