Teen charged with theft

A Union City teenager has been charged with theft for allegedly being in possession of an iPod stolen during a home burglary last week.
The 14-year-old was charged with the theft offense Monday night through a juvenile court petition, according to a Union City Police Department report.
Police said the teen was found in possession of a stolen iPod that was identified from a burglary that occurred Thursday at 907 Edwards St. in Union City.
Several hundred dollars worth of electronics, as well as a pistol and cash, were stolen during the break-in at Gary Frank Hutchison’s residence at 907 Edwards St. The home apparently was burglarized sometime during the day Thursday, police reported.
