George Holman, 91, of Union City died 7:30 p.m. May 23, 2013, at Obion County Nursing Home.
Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Exchange Street Church of Christ, with Dan Huggins officiating. Burial will follow in Obion County Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends at the church from 11 a.m. until the hour of services Saturday.
Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers will be John Holman, Jeff Chambers, Rudy Hainline, Bobby Williams, Trey Hitchcock, Tim Geiger and Ryan Hargrove. Honorary pallbearers will be Riley Chambers and Maddix Hitchcock.
Memorial contributions may take the form of donations to Lihue Church of Christ, 3164 Elva Street, Lihue, Hawaii 96766.
He was born Dec. 19, 1921, in Union City, son of the late Rob and Lula (White) Holman. He was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Hazel (Roberts) Holman, who died Jan. 31, 2008. He was a farmer and a member of Exchange Street Church of Christ, where he had served as a deacon for many years.
He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, David and Connie Holman of Fessenden, N.D.; his daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Tim Geiger of Huntsville, Ala.; his brother, Robert Holman of Union City; two sisters, Laura White of Nashville and Marilyn De Pasquale of Prescott, Ariz.; five grandchildren, Amanda Chambers, John Holman, Stephanie Hitchcock, Ryan Hargrove and Rex Hargrove; and seven great-grandchildren.
