Tornado victims aided Posted: Thursday, May 23, 2013 5:00 pm The Messenger, May 23, 2013 Fulton-South Fulton Rotary Club is partnering with other Rotary Clubs in the area to collect items to send this week to Moore, Okla., which was devastated by a tornado Monday. Items being collected include cash (with checks made out to the Rotary Club of Fulton), bottled water, work gloves, hand sanitizer, blue jeans and belts, short-sleeved shirts, socks, work-style shoes, garbage bags, snacks (such as peanut butter crackers, granola bars, protein bars, hard candy, etc.), first aid supplies (bandages, aspirin, sun screen, etc.) and hats or caps. Donations are being accepted this week and continuing through May 30 at 1 p.m. at the Keg restaurant on Lake Street in downtown Fulton or at First State Bank at 605 Broadway in South Fulton. Items will be transported by the local club to Murray, Ky., where a bus will haul items to Moore. |
