Museum to open spray park

The Children’s Museum of Memphis will soon open a new “H2Oh! Splash” spray park.
The long anticipated grand opening will be held May 27 at 10 a.m.
This garden-themed attraction provides more than 7,700 square feet of cool fun. Boasting over 40 sprayers — including flowers, leaves, split and jet streams, magic mist, turtle, crab, snail, water jelly, geysers, aqua dome, spray loops, cylinder spray and water tunnel — children and families enjoy the refreshing water as they escape the oppressive summer heat in Memphis. The park will be open daily and remain open through Labor Day and beyond if the weather is warm enough.
The garden theme allows children to have fun and learn educational concepts at the same time. Learning aspects include how plants grow, photosynthesis and water and sun safety. Music is the centerpiece of the park with a water organ that plays like a piano.
Admission to the spray park is separate from the admission fee to the museum. The park is also not included in museum membership since it is seasonal. The park will be open daily 10 a.m.-6 p.m. based on weather conditions. Prices are $4 for members and $8 for non-members Mondays through Thursdays and $5 for members and $10 for non-members Fridays through Sundays. Prices and hours are subject to change.
