A Union City man was treated for an eye injury after allegedly being assaulted early Saturday outside a local establishment.
Orlando Deshawn Brown, 33, of 1905 East Vine St. Ext., Union City, was injured in an incident that apparently occurred about 2:30 a.m. Saturday outside Bottoms Up on South First Street in downtown Union City, according to a Union City Police Department report.
Police spoke with Brown at the emergency room of Baptist Memorial Hospital-Union City, where he was being treated for a broken orbital bone in his eye. Medical staff indicated he was about to be transported to a Memphis hospital as a result of the injury, police reported.
Brown told police he left Bottoms Up with a white man and took him to a residence somewhere on Bethlehem Road and dropped him off. Brown said he returned to Bottoms Up and, when he was leaving around 2:30 a.m., the same man ran up to his car and punched him through the window. Brown said he punched him at least twice and he claimed the man was mad because Brown had left him at the residence.
The incident remains under investigation by police.
