Fulton officer arrested

A Fulton police officer has resigned after being arrested early Friday on an assault charge.
Officer Scott McKnight, who was employed with the Fulton Police Department, was arrested for fourth-degree assault (domestic violence) at 1:33 a.m. Friday at his home, according to a police press release.
Fulton Police Chief Terry Powell said officers had responded to 1110 West State Line in reference to a 911 call from a victim there who alleged she had been assaulted.
McKnight was arrested on the assault charge and lodged in the Fulton County Detention Center in Hickman, Ky., on a $2,000 bond.
Powell reported Friday afternoon that McKnight tendered his resignation to the City of Fulton’s police department effective immediately.
