Crash injures driver

A Fulton woman was injured Saturday afternoon when her vehicle crashed on the Purchase Parkway in Graves County, Ky.
Sharmeney Chambers, 22, of Fulton sustained injuries in an accident that occurred about 3:40 p.m. on the Jackson Purchase Parkway at the 10-mile marker, according to a Kentucky State Police news release.
Ms. Chambers was traveling south on the parkway when, for reasons yet to be determined, she lost control of her 1997 Chevy Lumina and crossed the median. She then crossed the northbound lanes and struck a drainage trough, where the car came to final rest.
The injured driver was removed from her vehicle by Graves County EMS and Wingo (Ky.) Fire Department personnel. She was taken to Jackson Purchase Medical Center in Mayfield, Ky., for treatment of non-life threatening injuries, the KSP reported.
Her infant passenger, 6-month-old Azareya Chambers, was not injured. Both the driver and passenger were reported to be using restraint devices.
The KSP was also assisted at the scene by the Graves County Sheriff’s Department.
