Affiliated with the National Association of Junior Auxiliary, the Obion County Junior Auxiliary is a non-profit organization dedicated to enhancing the lives of children in the area. The five-pointed star, symbolic of the organization, represents the five virtues the group strives to uphold — charity, youth, leadership, health and community service. The local Junior Auxiliary conducts fundraising events throughout the year to support youth, such as a Coats for Kids campaign, Taking Care of ME collection of hygiene products to distribute to school children, a petting zoo, Easter egg hunt and the Healthy Start/Healthy Finish event. Proceeds from the 5K will be used to support JA’s service projects. Published in The Messenger 5.16.13 |
