OC Commission to meet Posted: Wednesday, May 15, 2013 5:52 pm The Messenger, May 15, 2013 The Obion County Commission will meet Monday at 9 a.m. in the circuit courtroom at the Obion County Courthouse. The agenda includes resolutions to amend the General Purpose School Fund ($105,000 and $270,000); a resolution to amend the General Fund ($1,055) from the jail category to the sheriff category; a resolution to authorize application for a litter and trash collection grant for the 2013-14 fiscal year; a resolution to adopt a continuing budget and tax rate for the fiscal year beginning July 1 for Obion County; a request to release the delinquent property taxes for the year 2011; a resolution to adopt a local litigation tax (jail tax) beginning July 1 on all court cases for the purpose of jail and courthouse improvements; a resolution to adopt an additional $5 to the litigation tax on all court cases to offset funding of courtroom security; a resolution to establish a driving school for Obion County; appointments to the library, highway and nursing home boards, as well as the Western Tennessee Railroad Authority; and approval of notary public applications. The meeting is open to the public. |
