Marie Glover Posted: Tuesday, May 14, 2013 5:00 pm The Messenger, May 14, 2013 Marie Glover, 93, a longtime resident of the Union City area, died May 3, 2013, at Town Village Senior Living Center in Dallas. Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Friday at Mt. Olive Baptist Church Cemetery near Union City, with the Rev. Steve Carr officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday from 5-7 p.m. at White-Ranson Funeral Home. The family requests that memorials be made to Mt. Olive Baptist Church, 4509 Crystal Road, Union City, TN 38261. She was born Jan. 15, 1920, in Union City, daughter of the late Fred and Ida Gammons. She was married to Edward Glover, son of John and Edna Glover, for 47 years. He preceded her in death. Mrs. Glover’s happiest times were visiting with family, tending to the farm and singing in her church choir. She loved beautiful flowers and there were numerous rose beds around her home. She was a longtime member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church. She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Larry and Deborah Glover of Birmingham, Ala., and David and Rebecca Glover of Dallas; four grandsons and their wives, Perry and Erin Glover of Fort Worth, Texas, Andrew and Holly Glover of Dallas, Grant and Betsy Glover of Mobile, Ala., and Bryan and Debbie Johnson of Duluth, Ga.; eight great-grandchildren; and her sister, Virginia Dare Hayes of Samburg. She was also preceded in death by an infant son, John Trent Glover; and her brothers and sisters, Elwood Gammons, Estelle Wheeler, Artie Vaught, Irene Spence and Harold Gammons.
