A pair of thefts, one involving the theft of a Honda dirtbike and a second incident in which a flatscreen television was stolen, is being investigated by the Obion County Sheriff’s Department.
A red Honda CRF 150 dirtbike valued at $1,600 was reported stolen from Mark Swift’s residence on Ellen Street, according to Chief Deputy Kent Treece. He said the theft was reported Sunday by Swift, who was working on the bike, which is owned by John Sowell. Ellen Street is located off Highway 431 in the Midway community.
On Saturday, Denise Newton reported a 46-inch RCA flatscreen television was stolen from her mother’s residence on Rives-Mt. Pelia Road. The door by the carport was reportedly pried open to gain entry to the residence, according to the incident report. The television was valued at $600, according to Treece, who said an undetermined amount of jewelry was also taken from the residence.
Anyone with information about either of the two incidents is encouraged to contact the Obion County Sheriff’s Department at 885-5832.
