RTA meeting planned

Obion County-Union City Retired Teachers Association will meet Thursday at 11 a.m. at Sassafraz on West Reelfoot Avenue in Union City. May is scholarship month and a student from Union City will receive the group’s “teacher scholarship” this year.
The program will be presented by a representative of the Obion County Board of Education and those attending will have the opportunity to make a donation to Helping Hand Ministry.
Those planning to attend are asked to contact Alice Fennel at 536-5660, Jettie Huff at 446-1543 or Mary Dunavant at 885-9657. All retired teachers are invited, a spokesman said.
