Ray Hamilton Posted: Thursday, May 9, 2013 5:00 pm The Messenger, May 9, 2013 Ray Walker Hamilton, 80, of Union City died May 7, 2013, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital. Memorial services will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Cryer Funeral Home in Obion, with Harrell Davidson officiating. He was born June 12, 1932, in Obion, son of the late Cas Wells and Callie Lorene (Bramlett) Hamilton. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and a member of Church of Christ. He was a retired union grievance representative for Great Lakes Steel. Survivors include his daughter, Brenda Patrick of Athens, Ala.; his son, Anthony Walker Hamilton of Hattiesburg, Miss.; his brother, Leon Hamilton of Batesville, Miss.; three sisters, Margie Hill of Shelbyville and Lena Leary and Alexis Heflin, both of Huntsville, Ala.; eight grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Gladys (Hall) Hamilton; and two brothers, Willie F. Hamilton and Gene Hamilton. Condolences may be left for the family at www.cryerfuneralhome.com. |
