Driver charged in wreck

A South Fulton man was charged with reckless driving and two other offenses in connection with a traffic accident Wednesday afternoon at the busy intersection of Reelfoot Avenue and South First Street in Union City.
Christopher Lynn Moran, 38, of 5230 Memory Lane, South Fulton, was charged with reckless driving, expired driver’s license and a violation pertaining to carrying a driver’s license following a crash that occurred about 2:30 p.m., according to a Union City Police Department report.
Police reported Moran was eastbound on West Reelfoot Avenue “at a high rate of speed” and turned south onto South First Street at the 1400 block, where he lost control of his 2004 Chevrolet. His vehicle struck a four-wheel 20-foot trailer, causing damage to both the trailer and the vehicle pulling it, a 2004 Ford driven by Jeffery L. Fearin, 55, of 9828 South County Road 650, Knightstown, Ind.
Both vehicles were towed due to the damage, according to the report.
No injuries were reported.
