Sharon library news Posted: Wednesday, May 8, 2013 8:00 pm By KATHY WATSON Library director The Sharon Library had another great story time this week. Ms. Peggy continues to entertain the children with wonderful stories and small coloring projects or crafts. The library encourage parents to bring their children to story time each Thursday morning at 10:30. The library will be hosting a crochet club the second Tuesday of each month at 10 a.m. Anyone interested is welcome to come and bring their projects and use this time to share with others about this wonderful craft. Author Molly Harper will be at the library on May 14 for a “meet and greet.” Ms. Harper is the author of several contemporary romance novels. Our summer reading program registration will be May 22, 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. If you are unable to make this day you can always sign up when you visit the library. The book buzz will meet again on May 23 at 1:30 p.m. at the library. New members are encouraged to join, stop by and check us out. When stopping by thelibrary ask us about “Firefly”, that is our new interlibrary loan system. Do you have a child 5 years or younger? Have you heard of the Governor’s Books from Birth Program? If you have a child 5 years or younger and not enrolled in this program you can access it from this website https://sites.google.com/site/sharonpubliclibrary click on “Governor’s Books from Birth” icon and enroll your child. Statistics show that only 65 percent of the children in Weakley County are enrolled in this program. We need all children reading at an early age. This is a free service provided by many sponsors in our area and across the State of Tennessee. The library appreciates the donations of the classics that have been added to the collection. The library continues to accept donations of paperback, hardcover books and DVDs. Memorials are also accepted. This is another way to honor your loved one by placing a book in the library in memory of that person. Contact the library for more information. Want to learn a new language?
