Martin alderman David Sudberry has invited the public to join him for coffee Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Looking Glass Coffee and Curiosities in Historic Downtown Martin.
“I wanted to do this because it’s less public than coming to a board meeting and maybe I can get more public comments from people who come by and have a cup of coffee,” he said. “It’s a more comfortable one-on-one talking environment. Also, I’d like to get more people to come downtown. There’s been lots of money spent downtown and it looks a lot better.”
Sudberry’s district includes Historic Downtown Martin.
He was elected to office in November’s election.
“I have enjoyed it. It’s been interesting. I’ve gotten some public comment from the constituents. I’m enjoying it. I call myself a servant-leader. That’s the way I feel about it. I’m in a leadership position, but I’m a servent to the people of Martin. I want to make myself available to them.”
