The Tennessee Career Center in Union City is offering a “Steps to Getting Hired” workshop 9-11 a.m. May 15. The seminar will assist job seekers with filling out applications and writing resumes and will provide interviewing tips and networking advice, according to Career Center coordinator Don Dugger, who will conduct the session.
The seminar will teach job seekers how to properly complete a job application and develop a competitive resume leading to a greater likelihood of securing an interview.
Workshop participants will also learn new techniques and tips to stand out in the crowd and will develop a network action plan.
Space is limited. The workshop can be counted as a valid work search activity under the new unemployment insurance accountability act of 2012 for all claimants receiving Tennessee Unemployment Compensation. Job seekers needing additional training or education will also be provided information about federally-funded training programs during this session.
