Minister Thomas “Tommy” Pruitt, 63, of South Fulton died May 4, at his home.
Services will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Brooks Chapel Ministries in Fulton, with interment in Obion County Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be at Hornbeak Funeral Chapel in Fulton from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday. The body will lie in state at the church from 11:30 a.m. until the funeral hour Wednesday.
He was a member of  Brooks Chapel Ministries and served as an elder and leader of Christian education.
He had retired from the former Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co. in Union City after 32 years of service and was a sergeant in the National Guard, where he served for 33 years.
 He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Oma J. Pruitt; three sons and his daughter-in-law, Darren Pruitt of South Fulton, Pastor Gregory and Evon Pruitt of Murray, Ky.,  and Preston “Trey” Pearson of Trenton; seven grandchildren; two godchildren, Bryant Nall and Bria Hickman, both of Nashville; his brother, William “Bill” Pruitt of Knoxville; and two sisters, Patricia Hayes of Paducah, Ky., and Velmeter Hines of Memphis.
He was preceded in death by his parents. Mattie Hayes and Thomas Pruitt Sr.; his stepmother, Rose Pruitt; and his daughter, Shelia Pruitt.
