TEA Party meet set

The Obion County TEA Party will welcome Ben Cunningham as the speaker May 14 at 1413 South Home St. in Union City. Refreshments will be served at 6 and the meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m.
Cunningham is founder and president of Nashville TEA Party and has been a volunteer taxpayer and TEA Party activist in Tennessee for 10 years.
He has been instrumental in assisting taxpayer groups across the state lower local taxes and change local government to become more responsive to citizens and more taxpayer-friendly.
He was active in fighting against an effort to impose an income tax on Tennesseans and in other tax-related efforts and is press spokesman for Tennessee Tax Revolt Inc.
He holds an undergraduate degree in financial administration and master’s degree in economics.
The community is invited to attend this important session, a spokesman said.
