The Messenger 05.01.13 The Union City School System has announced the following lunch menus for May 6-10: Union City High School Monday, May 6 — Baked chicken nuggets or beef fingers with whole wheat roll, mashed potatoes with gravy, steamed carrots, fresh apple, canned peaches and low-fat milk and skim milk. Tuesday, May 7 — Barbecue pork with whole grain bun or turkey hot dog and chili with whole grain bun, baked beans, turnip greens, fresh orange, canned applesauce and low-fat milk and skim milk. Wednesday, May 8 — Meat loaf or tuna salad with whole wheat roll, green beans, fresh salad cup, fresh grapes, canned pears and low-fat milk and skim milk. Thursday, May 9 — Sausage pizza or soy butter and jelly with whole grain bread, steamed broccoli, whole kernel corn, fresh apple, canned pineapple and low-fat milk and skim milk. Friday, May 10 — Cheeseburger with whole grain bun or whole grain corndog, French fries, California blend vegetables, fresh banana, canned mixed fruit and low-fat milk and skim milk. Note: UCHS offers fresh salad bar options daily. Tuesday, May 7 — Sausage with whole grain biscuit or whole grain cereal with graham crackers and low-fat milk or juice. Wednesday, May 8 — Whole grain mini cinis or whole grain cereal with graham crackers and fresh fruit and low-fat milk or juice. Thursday, May 9 — Maple pancakes or whole grain cereal with whole grain toast and low-fat milk or juice. Friday, May 10 — Whole grain Pop Tarts or whole grain cereal with banana and low-fat milk or juice. Note: Free breakfast is offered daily to every SFES student. Lunch Monday, May 6 — Sloppy joe with whole wheat bun or turkey and cheese sandwich, sweet potato fries, whole kernel corn, fresh grapes and low-fat milk. Tuesday, May 7 — Spaghetti or barbecue chicken, whole grain roll, mashed potatoes, green peas, fresh apple and low-fat milk. Wednesday, May 8 — Fajita chicken with whole grain wrap or taco with whole grain wrap, pinto beans, shredded lettuce, salsa cup, sliced peaches and low-fat milk. Thursday, May 9 — Ham and cheese with whole wheat bun or turkey and cheese with whole wheat bun, lite salad dressing, carrot sticks with fat-free dressing, chef-cut veggies, mixed fruit and low-fat milk. Friday, May 10 — Hamburger with whole wheat bun or ham and cheese with bread, baked potato wedges, romaine lettuce, sliced tomato, pickles, fresh banana and low-fat milk.
