The Messenger, May 1, 2013 Lillian Petty, 88, of Tiptonville died April 29, 2013, at Reelfoot Manor Nursing Center in Tiptonville. Graveside services for Mrs. Petty will be 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Antioch Cemetery near Hornbeak, with Don Reel officiating. Curry Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. The Petty family will receive visitors 1-2 p.m. Thursday at Tiptonville Church of Christ, where she was a member. She was also a member of the Tiptonville Main Street Association. The family requests memorials be directed to the West Tennessee Children’s Home, 170 Frank Latham Road, Pinson, TN 38366. She is survived by her son, David Hayes Petty Jr.; her brother, James Thomas Burrus Jr. of Tiptonville; two grandchildren, Shaun Haywood and Laura Elizabeth Reed; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, David Hayes Petty Sr.; her parents, Fannie (Nobles) and James Thomas Burrus Sr.; her sister, Laura Virginia Pique; and three brothers, Ralph Burrus, Ben Taylor Burrus and Robert Hale Burrus.
